Erica designed & bound the original shell book in 2011. Book of the Sea has been featured in numerous book arts anthologies and was included in the Metropolitan Museum of Art Paper Project (NYC) in 2015.

Ethos
LoomBound books are hand-crafted with careful consideration.
Designs are inspired by universal weaving patterns and the high-femininity of the Art Nouveau era.
Biodegradable materials include 100% cotton paper, archival linen thread, and deadstock veg-tanned leather that might otherwise be landfilled due to imperfections unacceptable to conventional standard. These natural imperfections are honored as marks of beauty.
Each piece is deliberately fashioned with folk tools and slow patience in the Southern Black Hills (So.Dakota).
LoomBound books invoke the earth element and may be used alongside a journaling practice as a potent tool for nurturing your mental, emotional, and creative being.
